Case Study 3:

Calcified Canals

History:
This patient was referred following symptoms from an upper tooth which was only recently crowned. He had previously lost a tooth following a failed root canal treatment which was subsequently replaced with a dental implant. Owing to the large maxillary antrum loss of the problem tooth is likely to have required further intervention such as a sinus lift.

Our Treatment:
Owing to the calcified canal system the patient was referred to optimise the chances of successful endodontic treatment. With the aid of a dental operating microscope a conservative access cavity was created and all four root canals were successfully treated.

Result:

The tooth has been free of signs and symptoms.
